Stephanie Rose Wood is a collaborative, community-centred storyteller (question asker). Based in Naarm/ Melbourne, Stephanie focus is on producing long-form documentary projects, editorial commissions and teaching. Her creative practice is research-driven and explores themes of community, ritual and the psychology of belief.
Stephanie documents the communities around her, discovering stories that are hidden in plain sight. She has an interest in the relationship between photography and text, and adapting modes of storytelling across different platforms and audiences. Stephanie regularly photographs for publications in Australia, including Frankie Magazine, Smith Journal, Archer Magazine and Spaces. Stephanie teaches documentary photography at Photography Studies College, Melbourne. She is currently collaborating with Sydney based organisation, Contact Sheet in the development and delivery of their education program.
